1911 Initiative 5k Scholarship Run/Walk

We’re still buzzing from the energy of the 2025 1911 Initiative 5K Scholarship Run/Walk, and we want YOU to be part of the excitement in 2026!

This year’s event was an unforgettable celebration of community, fitness, and purpose—with over 400 runners and walkers hitting the course and more than 600 guests joining us for the epic post-race party filled with food, music, and fun.

From energetic starting lines to the beats of live DJs and the incredible food vendor lineup, the day brought people of all ages together to support scholarships and paid internships for deserving college-bound students. And now, we’re doing it again—even bigger!

PRICING 
PRE-Registration Price: $19.11, Early Bird price $35 then $45 and race day $55

The Village of Matteson has certified this 5K route.

PACKET PICK-UP
Packet pick-up will take place at VILLAGE OF MATTESON COMMUNITY CENTER. Date TBD

AWARDS
Top 3 overall male and female and top 3 male and female age groups will receive awards. Age groups include 7 & Under 8-10, 11-14, 15-17,18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+

SHIRTS
Participants who register before June 1, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt. Free or discounted entries do not guarantee a shirt unless payment is made.

PARKING
Official parking is available around the Village Community Center.

PROCEEDS
Portion of Proceeds support 1911 Initiative and the Village of Matteson's Dollars for Scholars program.
